Domestic Certifications

Compatible Electronics is pleased to announce its appointment as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB).

The TCB system was implemented in 2000 by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It is the FCC’s latest move to slowly step out of the approvals process, and to concern itself more with market surveillance, and supporting the TCBs.

Until this system was implemented, most products which intentionally radiate radio frequency energy, and products which connect to the public switched telephone network, were required to be certified with the FCC. This usually meant waiting several months for an approval to sell your product. Compatible Electronics TCB (CETCB) can now certify these types of products in less than two weeks.

Our scope of accreditation mainly covers FCC Part 15, for intentional and unintentional radiators, and FCC Part 68.

For more information regarding CETCB, please feel free to contact us at info@celectronics.com or visit our online filing page for domestic certifications.

Compatible Electronics Telecommunication Certification Body (CETCB) is a separate division of Compatible Electronics, Inc.

CETCB is not involved in the testing, training and consulting services offered by Compatible Electronics, Inc.

CETCB is subject to the following rules:

  • CETCB Shall not supply or design products of the type we certify.
  • CETCB Shall not give advice or provide consultancy services on matters that are barriers to the certification requested.
  • CETCB Shall not provide any other products or services that could compromise the confidentiality, objectivity or impartiality of our certification process and decisions.

European Conformity Assessment

Compatible Electronics has been appointed as a Notified body for the European EMC Directive 2004/108/EC, under the notified body number 1925, please see the European Commission web site for listing.

"U.S. designated Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) operating under the European Union (EU) EMC Directive 2004/108/EC Annex III, will be considered equivalent to an EU Notified body. The CAB is responsible to evaluate and endorse a Technical Construction File (TCF), (regardless of who developed it), and issue a certificate or technical report that will be included in the TCF. The certificate or report need only state that the TCF has been judged to adequately substantiate that the procedures carried out for the conformity assessment of those parts not covered by the harmonized standards have been correctly performed. The certificate or report is not a declaration of conformity for the product and does not need to state such conformance."

In the months ahead, Compatible Electronics will be working on many ways to keep you informed of upcoming changes that will affect your EMC compliance, one of these ways is an RSS feed that you can join from our web site, so be sure to check back often for more ways Compatible Electronics is "Helping you meet the market window"..
