Laboratory accreditation provides formal recognition to competent laboratories, thus providing a ready means for customers to identify and select reliable testing services. To maintain this recognition, our laboratories are re-evaluated regularly by NVLAP to ensure our continued compliance with requirements, and to check that our standard of operation is being maintained. As a condition of accreditation, we are also required to participate in relevant proficiency testing programs between reassessments, as a further demonstration of our technical competence.
"A laboratory's fulfillment of the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 means the laboratory meets both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary for it to consistently deliver technically valid test results and calibrations. The management system requirements in ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (Section 4) are written in language relevant to laboratory operations and meet the principles of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems — Requirements."
