Compatible Electronics is NVLAP-accredited for EN 61000-6-2 (2005) — the generic immunity standard for industrial environments — providing the complete test suite at three Southern California locations.
EN 61000-6-2 is the generic immunity standard for industrial environments, published by CENELEC. It specifies higher immunity test levels than the residential counterpart EN 61000-6-1 — reflecting the more severe electromagnetic environment found in factories, industrial facilities, and heavy plant installations. When no product-specific EMC standard exists and the product is intended for industrial use, EN 61000-6-2 provides the applicable immunity requirements for CE marking.
All constituent IEC 61000-4 tests are performed at Compatible Electronics' NVLAP-accredited facilities — ESD, radiated RF, EFT/burst, surge, conducted RF, and magnetic field — enabling a complete EN 61000-6-2 program in a single visit. See About Generic Standards for when this standard applies.
🔎 EN 61000-6-2 vs EN 61000-6-1: EN 61000-6-2 applies to industrial environments and specifies significantly higher test levels than EN 61000-6-1 (residential). Key differences: Radiated RF 10 V/m (vs 3 V/m), Conducted RF 10 Vrms (vs 3 Vrms), EFT ±2 kV power port (vs ±0.5 kV), Surge ±1/±2 kV (vs ±0.5/±1 kV), Magnetic field 30 A/m (vs 3 A/m). Choose EN 61000-6-2 for equipment installed in factory or industrial environments.
