Power Frequency Magnetic Field Immunity Testing

Power Frequency Magnetic Field Immunity Testing

Power frequency magnetic field immunity testing evaluates your product's ability to operate correctly in the presence of 50/60 Hz magnetic fields. Compatible Electronics provides IEC 61000-4-8 testing services.

What is Power Frequency Magnetic Field Testing?

Strong magnetic fields at power line frequencies (50 Hz or 60 Hz) exist near power cables, transformers, motors, and other current-carrying equipment. These fields can interfere with sensitive electronics, particularly devices with magnetic sensors, CRTs, or audio equipment.

Sources of Power Frequency Magnetic Fields

High-Current Power Cables and Bus Bars
Transformers and Inductors
Electric Motors and Generators
Fault Currents in Power Systems
Welding Equipment and Industrial Processes
