Compatible Electronics is NVLAP-accredited (Lab Code 200527-0) for IEC 61010-2 Part 2 particular requirements testing — covering laboratory heating equipment, testing and measuring circuits, and mixing/stirring equipment — at our Lake Forest/Silverado location.
The IEC 61010-2 series provides particular safety requirements for specific types of laboratory and measurement equipment, used together with the general requirements of IEC 61010-1. Each Part 2 standard supplements and modifies Part 1 for the specific hazards, construction, and intended use of a given equipment category.
IEC 61010-2 testing is required for CE marking under the EU Low Voltage Directive (EN 61010-2 harmonized editions) and supports FDA ASCA submissions for applicable laboratory medical devices. Laboratory equipment also requires EMC testing — IEC 61326 EMC testing applies to measurement and control equipment. See our IEC 61010 measurement equipment safety overview for more.
💡 Part 1 + Part 2: IEC 61010-2 Part 2 standards are always tested alongside IEC 61010-1. The Part 2 standard takes precedence where it conflicts with Part 1.
